So, we are passionate about innovation…..

One of the first problems that we solved was the replacement bin lid catch for the Brabantia bin.

When this bin was designed by Brabantia, they decided to include the striker pin into the same moulding as the rim of the bin lid, this means that when the pin snaps off, you need a complete new lid! – bad idea right?

To be fair to Brabantia, I heard that their customer service is very good, but let me ask you ……. In this day and age of saving the planet, is it really a good idea to provide someone with a complete replacement lid when a tiny piece of plastic has snapped off?

When you think of the energy consumed alone in the manufacture of a stainless steel and plastic lid, the transportation, the packaging …… and then what happens to your old lid? Landfill?… Probably.

Our solution was a small replacement catch that can simply be slid on where the old one broke off. It takes the minimum amount of power to produce, it can be recycled and means your bin lid will go on for another few years, or maybe 10 more like ours.
